Performance
You want your truck to deliver a powerful performance for the different tasks you need to complete. Luckily, the Maverick’s standard 2.5L hybrid engine produces up to 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. This hybrid engine will come paired to an electronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) and will also sport a standard front-wheel drive system.
If you’d like a more traditional gas engine, the Maverick can provide that as well. Choose the available 2.0L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder gas engine to enjoy up to 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, you’ll have the choice between front-wheel drive or the available all-wheel-drive system. This engine can also deliver the maximum towing capacity of 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Just as the drivetrain and transmission choices will differ, so too will the fuel economy ratings. The hybrid engine can achieve up to an EPA-estimated 42 city and 33 highway MPG, while the gas engine with front-wheel drive can provide an EPA-estimated 23 city and 30 highway MPG.
Interior
Within the Maverick, you’ll feel cool and comfortable with plenty of standard features and upgrades. Standard cloth seats and a 6-way manually adjustable driver seat will allow you to choose a comfortable position before revving up the engine.
You’ll also want some upgraded technology options to provide entertainment on your drives. Here, you’ll find a standard 8-inch touchscreen as well as Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Your instrument cluster will consist of a 4.2-inch screen so you can closely monitor your performance on the go.
In terms of safety, you’ll find the standard Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite, which includes the following:
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking: This system can provide braking when a potential collision is detected with another vehicle or a pedestrian.
- Auto High-Beam Headlamps: These will turn on when it gets dark and can dim when other vehicles are approaching.
Upgrades include available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert. This system can help you merge into another lane or carefully back out of a parking spot while avoiding other vehicles.
Trim Levels
Three trim levels are available with the Ford Maverick:
- XL
- XLT
- LARIAT
Each trim will offer an assortment of fun upgrades to increase your comfort within the vehicle. For example, the standard 6-way manual driver’s seat mentioned in the previous section becomes an available 8-way power-adjustable seat on the XLT trim level and a standard feature on the LARIAT trim.
Both the XLT and LARIAT levels offer upgrades to available heated front seats and a heated steering wheel for elevated comfort. Outside, you’ll even find available heated side mirrors to get up and move quicker on frosty mornings.
